Fonterra
Fonterra is a New Zealand-based global dairy nutrition company owned by thousands of farmers, and one of the world’s leading exporters of dairy products.
In Korea, Fonterra supplies a wide range of high-quality dairy ingredients including milk powders, butter, cheese, and specialized products for baking and beverages. Since the Korea–New Zealand Free Trade Agreement in 2015, Fonterra has significantly expanded its presence in the Korean market—capturing over 60% of Korea’s cheddar import market and exporting more than 20,000 tonnes of cheese in 2024 alone. The company’s IQF mozzarella is especially popular among major foodservice and pizza chains, and retail partnerships with outlets like Emart Traders have boosted brand visibility.
Fonterra continues to grow its Korean operations by strengthening local partnerships, logistics infrastructure, and developing value-added dairy solutions tailored to Korean consumer demand.
